An old 1950’s kitchen had been mostly untouched for decades. With Huck’s permission (see photo 1) we tore it out completely and in an effort to meet the customer’s tight budget we went with the IKEA kitchen system, quartz countertops, added a gas range, and completely updated all applicable drain and water lines for the kitchen. This kitchen’s water lines were rusted past 50% the original volume. The wall separating the dining room and kitchen was opened to a serving bar. We utilized a previously unused corner for the fridge and pantry, reoriented all appliance locations, and added lighting and proper doors to the utility room. The cherry on top is the concealed laundry and new side entry door for a functional mud-room entrance and attractive laundry in the kitchen. Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring offers a beautiful alternative to tile for those with a specific budget, and bonus, they’re waterproof! Huck approved!
